Rhonda Taylor formerly of New York City, moved to Northampton County in 1992. She currently holds a BS Degree in Business Management from West Virginia. She began her Social Work career in 1990 as a Child Protective Services worker under the Division of Adoption and Foster Care Services with the City of New York. Upon moving to Northampton County, she worked with the Child Protective Services Unit in Halifax County and in January, 1994 she began her career with the Northampton County Department of Social Services.
As an Adult Services Social Worker, she provided services such as, Adult Protective Services, Adult Home Specialist, Placement, Adult Day Care, Guardianship, Payee, CAP-DA, Enhanced Care, LIEAP, Crisis and Transportation Services. In July of 2011, she was promoted to Adult Services Supervisor III. In 2019 she assisted the County with overseeing the Aging Program.
Ms. Taylor believes that her experience as a social worker as well as her service with the Northampton County Board of Education, affords her the ability to make informative, equitable decisions for the Department of Social Services. She is a mother of two and has three grandchildren. She has a passion for assisting seniors and the children of Northampton County.
